Nikos Thanos has obtained a degree in Archaeology and Art History from the University of Crete and holds a Master 2 in Classical Studies from Paris IV-Sorbonne with research on the Iconography of Temples A and B in Prinias. He is currently an MSc student at the University of Aegean in the “Applied Sciences in Archaeology” program. He has participated in excavations in Eleftherna (1997-2002), Gavdos (1999-2002,2006-2008), Dreros (2009-2013,2016) and has been working as a contract archaeologist since 2002 in various places in Athens, Crete and Cyclades. His role in Sissi since 2015 is to be the eye of the Greek government working as an “Epoptis”.
