Maria Kayafa has studied Education and Archaeology. Her research interests lie in the study of metal artifacts from the BA Aegean, both as typological and technological entities. Her PhD (University of Birmingham, 2000) dealt with prehistoric metallurgy in the Bronze Age Peloponnese and she has published several articles on the chemical analysis and lead isotope analysis of copper-based and lead objects.

At Sissi she will handle the metal finds.
