Borja Legarra Herrero

Borja is Associate Professor of Mediterranean Prehistory at the UCLondon Institute of Archaeology. His expertise lies in Cretan funerary archaeology and archaeological surveys. Over the years, he has been involved in several significant projects, including the Knossos Urban Landscape project.

Currently and among other work he currently co-directs a project on Aegean gold with Prof. Marcos Martinón-Torres, where they explore the intersection between technology, exchange, and consumption. This research sheds new light on the role of this prestigious material in Aegean communities.

As part of this project, they have been studying the gold material from Sissi together with Dr. Agnese Benzonelli.
