Aurore Schmitt is « chargée de recherche » at the CNRS (UMR 7268 – ADèS) in Marseille (France). Her research focuses on the archaeology of death and biological features of Mediterranean Neolithic and Bronze Age populations. At the UMR, she also directs the research group «Archeo-anthropology of holocene populations » and teaches on archeothanatology.
At Sissi, she is member of the field anthropologist team excavating the burial area of the Bouffos (Zone 9).
